Renate Renner

Mag.phil. Dr.rer.soc.oec. Renate Renner

Renate Renner is a PhD sociologist and mediator according to the Austrian civil right mediation law and is currently in training to become an analytical psychologist and psychotherapist upon C.G. Jung. As a Post-Doc scientist Mrs. Renner worked from 2011 until the end of 2018 at the University of Graz, where she focused on risk communication and social capacity building within risk management of natural hazards.

She got her PhD within the doctoral program of “sustainable development” at the University of Natural Resources and Life Science Vienna, in research cooperation with the Wageningen University in the Netherlands with the focus on inter- and transdisciplinary research, qualitative network analysis and social capital research.

Within DCNA Dr. Renner is the contact person for the interdisciplinary work group for “disaster risk”. She works currently within different research projects on the development of training concepts for experts in risk management of natural hazards and for downhole operations during complex danger, considering social and psychological aspects.
