Disaster Competence Network Austria is a cooperation platform of universities and research institutions in the field of security and disaster research.
What we do
Our goal is to transfer scientific insights into practice through collaborative research and education activities with stakeholders, as well as providing information to decision-makers in the event of a disaster.
Risk and disaster communication
At the beginning of this year, HEUREKA was launched - a project co-financed by the EU to connect network civil protection experts in Europe and the Middle East. In addition to knowledge transfer, the aim is to improve coordination, cooperation, compatibility, and complementarity between experts in neighboring countries in the Middle East.
After Horizon 2020, the next European funding program has launched: Horizon Europe, with a total budget of EUR 95.5 million for the years 2021-2027, the most important funding program for research in innovation in the European Union. As in the previous program, great importance is attached to international cooperation in R&D and innovation projects.
