Katrin Kuhnen studied geography at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt with emphasis on environmental processes and natural hazards. Her professional focal point is on the human-environment interface regarding documentation and management of natural hazard events using two- and three-dimensional models. Her current focus is on forest fire management at Austrian and European level.
At the DCNA, she is involved in the TREEADS project as a research assistant and is the contact person for the Young Scientists. Furthermore, the DCNA supports her doctoral studies at the Institute of Silviculture at BOKU.
